What computers, browsers and phones work with Space?
Space runs in a current web browser with 3D graphics (WebGL) turned on; designing is easiest on a computer with a mouse.
Computers
Space runs in a web browser. Use a recent version of Chrome, Edge or Safari. The 3D kitchen needs WebGL, the browser feature that draws 3D graphics. It's on by default in current browsers.
A Space desktop app for Windows and Mac that works with no internet is coming later. During the beta, Space runs in the browser only.
Phones and tablets
- Looking at a kitchen a shop shared with you, or a contractor link, works on a phone. You can turn the view, zoom, walk through and read messages.
- Designing a kitchen is easiest on a computer with a mouse or trackpad and a full-size screen. You drag cabinets, pull handles and use side panels.
- The 360° view image from a plan set opens on phones and in photo apps that show 360° pictures.
If the 3D view is blank or slow
- Update your browser and restart it.
- Close other tabs and apps that use a lot of graphics.
- Make sure hardware acceleration is turned on in your browser settings. Turning it off also turns off WebGL.
- On a laptop, plug in the charger. Some laptops slow the graphics on battery.
- If you see "The 3D library did not load. Check the connection and reload the page," check your internet and reload.
- Try a different browser. If 3D works there, the problem is in the first browser's settings or extensions.
Things that need to be allowed
- Cookies and site storage for stillespace.com. Space keeps you signed in and saves kitchens in the browser's storage. Private or incognito windows can lose this when they close.
- Downloads. PDFs, pictures and cut files save as ordinary downloads in a browser.
Printing
On the homeowner designer and on shared kitchens, printing the page is turned off. The plan set PDF is the printable version.
