Help · Invited to a kitchen, and designers
Accepting an estimate
The invited homeowner accepts the shop's estimate by typing their full name; this counts as an electronic signature.
Only the person the shop invited as the Homeowner can accept an estimate. A designer can read it but sees "The homeowner accepts the estimate from their own sign-in."
Steps
- Open the kitchen and press Estimate (the button shows the total) in the bar at the bottom.
- Read every line, the total, the deposit and balance (if shown), how long it's good for, and the shop's notes.
- Under To accept, type your full name, type your name.
- Press Accept the estimate.
You'll see "Estimate accepted. The shop has been told." The estimate then shows Accepted with your name and the date.
What accepting means
Typing your name and pressing the button records that you accept that estimate, with the date and time, and shows it to the shop. It counts as your electronic signature on it (terms, section 3). Read it first, and ask the shop in Messages if anything is unclear.
Things to know
- Your agreement for the cabinets is with the shop, not with Space. The price, deposit, schedule, warranty and the work are between you and the shop.
- Space doesn't take payments for estimates. Pay the deposit the way the shop tells you.
- Once accepted, you can't un-accept it in Space. If you made a mistake or want changes, write to the shop.
- You only see the newest estimate the shop sent. If the shop sends a new one, that's the one you see and accept.
"That estimate cannot be accepted"
The estimate may already be accepted, or you're signed in with an email that isn't the homeowner's invite. Check with the shop.
