Construction standards and the offcut rack
Pick a construction standard in Build, or set your own; the Construction tab shows the box in 3D; the offcut rack keeps the last sheet's clean strip for the next job.
Shop and CNC plans.
Construction standard
At the top of List → Build, pick a Construction standard:
- Face frame (the default): face-frame boxes in 0.74" ply, a 1/2" back screwed on, tab and slot, legs, 5 mm pins.
- Frameless 3/4 with 1/4 back in dado
- Economy 5/8 sides
- European 32 mm
Change any setting (joinery, back, base cabinet tops, base, face frame, doors and drawer fronts, drawer boxes, drawer slides, carcass ply, back and front thickness, dado depth, saw kerf, toe kick height, edge banding) and it becomes Custom (yours). Every box in the kitchen follows: the saw parts, sheets and cut list, and the boxes in the 3D room. The standard is kept on that computer. Back to face frame (the default) resets it.
What the drawer boxes are made of (solid wood, maple or Baltic birch plywood, painted, other plywoods) and their corners are chosen in Finishes.
The Construction tab
Every setting, with the box in 3D (or the Construction tab) shows a Base, Upper or Tall box built from your standard. Together and Apart pull it apart to show the joints. Drag to turn it. Tap a part (a side, the back, a shelf) to change how it's built, and type the box's width, height and depth to see it at any size. Every setting is beside it, in sections: sheet thicknesses, back, box joinery, bottom, top, base, face frame, edge banding, shelf pins, hinges, slides and drawer boxes, and saw.
Your sheet goods adds a plywood or panel you buy: species, colour or a photo of its face, core, thickness and price a sheet.
On the CNC plan, a setting marked saw and cut list only for now isn't in the machine files yet; for it, the files keep the shop standard's setting.
The offcut rack
When a job's last sheet leaves a clean full-length strip, Build says so. Press Keep the offcut to put it on the Offcut rack. The next job with the same material and thickness cuts matching offcuts first ("Offcut … from the rack"). Once they're cut, press Used the offcuts so no other job counts on them. Remove takes one off the rack.
