Cut lists, labels and machine files

The Shop tab works out every box, part and sheet from the kitchen and makes labels, cut lists, orders and machine files for your CNC.

In the studio, press List → Shop. The first time on a computer, the Shop tab and Cut say Opening the cutting engine… for a moment while Space unlocks it for your shop; you need to be signed in with your shop account. After that it opens on that computer even offline. If you see "The shop tools come with a shop account", open the kitchen from Space, signed in with your shop. Space builds every cabinet from the kitchen using Space's own code and your shop standards.

What's on the Shop tab

Open each section to see it:

Downloads

Files are named after the kitchen and today's date.

Machine files

Machine files are on the Cut screen: press Cut in the studio's top bar. Set your machine's maker and control once in Rack and tools. See "Machine files for your CNC (any brand)".

Your shop standards

By default the Shop tab uses Space's default shop standards (material thickness, joinery, hinges, runners and so on). To use yours, press Use my shop standards… and pick a shop standards settings file. Back to the defaults undoes it. Your standards file is remembered on this computer only.

Where the files save

Before you cut

Check every file before you run it. Preview it, run its air cut every time, and cut the test coupon before the first sheet of each job and whenever you change tooling, material or settings. Check sizes, hardware and appliance openings against the makers' instructions. Space doesn't control your machine (terms, section 5).
