Syncing, working offline, and "(from this computer)" copies
Kitchens save on the computer first and sync to the shop when online; if a kitchen changed in two places, Space keeps both.
How saving works
- Every change in the studio saves on this computer first.
- When you're signed in and online, it also saves to your shop, so the whole team sees it.
You don't press Save.
When Space syncs
- A few seconds after you change a kitchen.
- Every 5 minutes while Space is open on screen.
- When the internet comes back.
- When you press Sync now (on the Kitchens or Shop page).
The Shop page shows "Last synced" with the time. "Kitchens are up to date." means everything matched.
Working offline
If the internet drops, keep working. Kitchens keep saving on this computer and show Changed here or Not synced yet on the Kitchens list. They send the next time you're online and signed in.
Sharing, Team, Files, sending estimates and Jobs need the internet.
For a computer that's never online, see "Working with no internet: the license".
"(from this computer)" copies
If the same kitchen was changed on two computers while one was offline, Space doesn't pick one and throw the other away:
- The shop's version stays as the kitchen.
- This computer's version is saved beside it, with "(from this computer)" added to its name.
Open both, decide which is right, and copy any changes across. Then you can rename the one you keep. (A "(from this computer)" copy that's synced can't be removed from the Kitchens list.)
To avoid this, press Sync now before you switch computers.
"Sync stopped: … Your work is safe on this computer."
Your changes are still on this computer. Check the internet and press Sync now. If it keeps stopping, sign out and back in. Still stuck? Email hello@stillespace.com with the message Space showed.
Still stuck? In the Space app, press Ask Space, or email hello@stillespace.com.
