Adding, moving and changing cabinets
Add cabinets and appliances from the shelf, then move, resize, turn, duplicate or remove them.
Press Cabinets at the top of the studio. The shelf at the bottom has tabs: Lowers, Uppers, Talls, Built-ins, Islands, Appliances, Fillers and Outlets.
Islands has whole islands, 72" × 36" to 108" × 42" (plain, sink, range, table, turned, butcher's or furniture base) and a peninsula. Tap or drag one in; Space checks the 36" aisle around it, and the island is selected as a whole.
Add a cabinet
- Drag a cabinet from the shelf onto a wall, or
- Tap or click it to add it.
Cabinets click into place along the wall. If one overlaps something, the panel on the right says so: drag it to a free spot.
Move and resize
- Drag a cabinet to move it.
- Pull a brass handle on its side to change the width. For uppers, the top arrow raises or lowers it.
- With a cabinet selected, the arrow keys nudge it along the wall.
The panel on the right
Click a cabinet to open its panel. Depending on the cabinet you can:
- Pick a Width (sizes with no room are greyed out).
- Swap the Cabinet type, for example a door base for a drawer base.
- Set Hinges to Left or Right, and turn on Finished ends.
- Press Counter or Backsplash to change those surfaces.
- On an island: ↺ Turn and Turn ↻.
- Duplicate or Remove.
Click a window, wall or doorway to get its own panel. Drag the panel's title bar to move it out of the way.
Cabinet line and doors
At the right of the shelf, Line switches between Face frame, Euro, and Euro + spacers, and Doors between Shaker and Slab. These apply to the whole kitchen. More choices are in Finishes.
Undo
The curved arrows at the top right are Undo and Redo. Almost everything can be undone.
Keyboard shortcuts (computer)
- Delete or Backspace: remove the selected item
- Ctrl+Z (Cmd+Z on Mac): undo. Ctrl+Shift+Z or Ctrl+Y: redo
- Ctrl+D (Cmd+D): duplicate
- R: turn the selected item. Shift+R: turn the other way
- Q and E: turn the view. + and −: zoom
- Esc: stop drawing, or deselect
