Laundry rooms, walk-in pantries and finishes per room

Add a laundry room or walk-in pantry beside the kitchen on the same screen, move it, give it its own finishes, and fill it from the Laundry · pantry shelf.

Laundry rooms and walk-in pantries are built on the same screen as the kitchen.

Add a room

1. Press Room. Add a room is right under Walls.
2. To join it to the kitchen, tap the kitchen wall it should go behind first. The new room goes on the other side, joined through a doorway cut in both walls. Tap no wall and it stands on its own.
3. Choose Laundry room or Walk-in pantry.

The laundry room starts with a sink base, uppers to the ceiling, a stacked washer and dryer pair and base cabinets. The walk-in pantry starts 6' × 7' with shelves down both sides and a counter across the back.

Change a room

Tap the room's floor for its panel:

• Room: its name.
• Ceiling: 8', 9', 10' or type one. It changes only that room's walls.
• Move: drag the floor to move the whole room with everything in it. The doorway into the next room moves with it, and comes back on whatever wall it's pushed up against. The turn buttons swing it a quarter turn.
• Remove this room: takes out the room, its doorway in the next room and everything in it. Undo brings it back.

The Laundry · pantry shelf

Under Cabinets, the Laundry · pantry tab has:

• Washers and dryers: side-by-side pairs, stacked pairs, all-in-one washer-dryers, a tower and 24" compacts. Shops can pick the make and model; homeowners pick the type and size.
• The laundry sink base, a basket base, a hamper pull-out, a laundry wall cabinet, a shelf with a hanging rod, a fold-down drying rack, a peg rail, a top over a front-load pair and a side panel.
• Pantry shelves with roll-out trays, a ladder on a rail and the pantry cabinet.

Space checks for 36" clear in front of washers and dryers and a 36" pantry aisle.

Finishes per room

On the Finishes tab, Finishes for picks the room. Choose Same as the kitchen or Its own. A room with its own finishes keeps its own cabinet colour or wood, doors, hardware, counter, backsplash and walls. Floors are per room. The cabinet line stays the same in every room.

Shops

Every room goes into one cut list, nested on the same sheets, and the price goes room by room on each room's own finish. Washers and dryers are openings, named by make and model in the notes.
